Hello, I'm administrator of "Cool and Hot" web site.
This time I'll tell you Kiryu silk.
At first, Kiryu is in the southeast part of Gunma prefecture, near the Tochigi border. It is about 100 kilometers northwest of Tokyo.
Kiryu is often referred to as "the Eastern Kyoto". Like Kyoto, Kiryu has almost 1300 years of history behind it and owes its wealth and tradition to the silk textile industry.
Kiryu silk was sent to the Imperial Court and was used by the Tokugawa Shogun for his army's battle banners in 1600. Kiryu became the site for a major silk market which drew merchants from all over Japan.
Even now, Kiryu is a major centre for the manufacture of Kimonos (traditional Japanese wear).
“Cool and Hot” treats silk body wash towel. Our these silk thread is spined in Gunma and weaved in Kiryu. That means all process(from materials to manufacturing industry) of our silk body wash towel are made in around Kiryu. So of course our products are made in Japan!
